Misdirection: Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

There’s ten seconds left in the game, your team is down one… You CAN’T settle for a three or a long two… you need to get into the paint… So, how do you get by your defender on the dribble? The answer usually relies on one word: MISDIRECTION.

Insert five moves that will allow you to get by a defender using quick change of direction. An important item to note in all of these videos, is the way each player is down LOW when they make their moves, and how they attack opponents at the level of their hips.

The UTEP Two-Step

Go to 51 seconds in-

Utep Two-Step #2:

Inside-out crossover

Go to 1:35 seconds in-

Double crossover

Go to 18 seconds in-

Hesitation crossover- Set up the defender with a quick hesitation step/head and shoulder fake one way, and then bring the ball back to the other.

Go to 2:21 seconds in to see a seven footer do it-

Finally, like an artist painting a canvas, basketball players put signature wrinkles into their game that are all their own.  Create your own patented misdirection move, like Iverson.
